Delicious cocktails, tasty appetizers, and a warm atmosphere – that’s what you’ll experience when you indulge in Happy Hour at Cedar Crest. A newly created event, Happy Hour was founded by Dietary Manager Steve in 2015, but Dietary Supervisor Alicia Stark currently organizes it. Held in the Garden Café, guests enjoy two appetizers and a specialty drink. Beer, wine and soda are also available as alternative beverages. Often times the drinks, food and music are coordinated for a particular theme. Mexican, County Fair Food, Southern Inspired, Irish and Beach are just a few examples. “It’s a very laid back experience for the residents. It gives them a moment to sit down and chat,” said Stark. Happy Hour typically runs 2 to 3 hours and 25 to 30 residents participate in the event, but all Independent Living residents are welcome to attend. Happy Hour is held once a month on no particular day. A week before the event, Stark hangs posters in the elevators to inform residents what will be served.
